My Calling to IsraelPhilip Blom |
After about twenty years of serving Israel, I realized that the relationship
between the nations is panning out in exact accordance with Noah's blessing/curse
on his sons:
Among Gentiles, interest in Israel and Jews mostly stems from religiously instilled burdens to preach their brand of salvation. Most, including evangelical Christians, don't realize that there is more at stake in Israel from the God of Israel's point of view, than to get the Jews to accept salvation as they see it. Yes, there is much, much more to involvement with Israel from the God of Israel's perspective and one needs to search the Bible to get glimpses of his heart's cry about his land and his people. Of this, most importantly, to repossess the land he has set aside for himself, to eventually rule the world from there - from his holy mountain. - See: "And ALL ISRAEL SHALL be saved!"
In most Christian churches this ignorance is due to the misconception that
the church has replaced Israel.
Fortunately for me, I had been informed about God's purposes with Israel
and the Jews before I was called to go there at the end of 1982. This was
via a cousin of mine who had heard about it the year before at the Feast
of Tabernacles celebration hosted by the International Christian Embassy
Jerusalem (ICEJ) in Jerusalem. Due to this knowledge, I understood that I
was to be involved in line with the following scriptures:
*** These scriptures are of course also at the moment being fulfilled by the thousands of foreigners employed in Israel, like the Rumanians, Filipinos, Thais, etc. But they are there because they cannot find employment in their own countries - the reason as well, why so many Arabs moved to Israel since the late 1800s after the Jews from Eastern Europe started creating employment as they rebuilt their land - see "Belief Statements." Many Christians have nevertheless for many years been serving Israel in solidarity with God's burden to restore Eretz Israel and its people to it. They have been giving their all to serve in Israel as volunteers, working for organizations like the ICEJ, Bridges for Peace, Christian Friends of Israel (CFI), on moshavim (farming communities), kibbutzim, etc. It soon became clear to me that a calling to Israel doesn't mean going there to turn the world upside down for God. I simply needed to be there to do whatever volunteer work was offered to me to survive - since I didn't receive support from sources outside Israel. Doing this I have up to date spent about twelve years in Israel since 1983 on 13 stints "of duty." Only once did I actually know in advance what I was going to do in Israel. The usual thing, though, was to arrive in Israel with a "purse" that tied me over for about two weeks in a cheap hostel before I'd "had" to have found a means to survive. That "something" the Lord had "waiting" for me every time in Israel, proved his perfect timing - except, seemingly for most of the time of my current visit from 10 December 2003 in which He seems to be marking time for something to happen -- like the "bringing down" of the "whitewashed wall" --- see below. My calling did not include involvement with Jewish affairs outside Israel, until early 1997, when I returned to South Africa, my home country, to investigate information I had received that anti-Semitism might develop there. My monitoring, however, didn't show evidence of any threat to Jews at that time, so I returned to Israel.
In October 1998 I again "received" the scripture we had been given when we
were first called to Israel: When I asked the Lord what these MESSAGES were, He said: "The messages are the words Ezekiel and others had received that have a bearing on these days. Following this, it was easy to interpret what the Lord's next instruction entailed. It was conveyed in a single word, OBSERVE! My calling was therefore changed from "SERVING" to "OBSERVING" - although I still needed to survive by doing volunteer work.
I was to "observe" and testify that the Lord does exactly what he had
said he WOULD DO through his prophets. |

From "observing" what was going on concerning Israel and the nations and gaining some understanding, I started the page "Prophetic Wakeup Call" to publish my observations and to warn readers not to be caught unawares -- especially by the onset of the FINAL TRIBULATION. Click to see what, in my view, will trigger IT! By being able to extend the warning to Christians in the nations of the onset of the final TRIBULATION and offering them a place of REFUGE (Israel), my CALLING actually reverted back to my own brethren. Since they are mostly of European origin, Japheth, like me, it's a literal fulfillment of: "... may Japheth live in the tents of Shem, ..."
At this time, October 2005, some prophecies still need to be fulfilled to clear the way for the restoration of the kingdom of David (for Messiah's rule - in the line of David). These are, in my view:
All we see presently is an emboldening, strengthening and mobilizing of Israel's enemies due to her leaders' unilateral abandonment of territory, viz. South Lebanon, Gaza and parts of Judea and Samaria. The day will come, however, that Israel will have to act against these enemies to survive, no matter who runs the government. In this age of destructive missiles, it will have to in a way that will knock out the enemy permanently. So, until that happens, I'm here in Israel, hanging on for dear life, OBSERVING, publishing and keeping Holy Land Inc., Holy Land Camping and Highways to Jerusalem alive to begin operating when they become relevant - see ASSOCIATES Sincerely hoping to provide a refuge for the brethren in Zion when things go wrong in the nations.
